Connecting with Others at Epworth
Children are precious to us at Epworth UMC. We welcome them in worship with all their wiggles and voices, and we provide a special children's sermon each Sunday. In addition to Sunday school classes for children, we plan special activities for children and families throughout the year.
Epworth Youth (Middle and High School students) may be involved in multiple activities to nurture their spiritual growth, discipleship, and fellowship.
Epworth provides many small groups and committees centered on fellowship, learning and ministries.
Families come in all shapes and sizes at Epworth- some with children and youth, some with grown children and grandchildren, as well as "empty-nesters" and single adults.
United Methodists observe the sacrament of Holy Communion (also known as The Eucharist or The Lord’s Supper). We believe that God is present through Holy Communion in a special way; we invite “all who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another” to share Holy Communion with us.
United Methodists celebrate the sacrament of Baptism. We believe that God is active through Baptism in an especially meaningful way and because of God’s activity, we welcome infants, youth, and adults for baptism.
Individuals who wish to become professing members of the church may complete a confirmation class led by the pastor. While this typically occurs around the ages of 11-13, youth and adults may do so as well.
While marriage is not a sacrament in the United Methodist Church, it is a very sacred occasion for the marrying couple and their families.
When a death occurs within the Epworth family or within their families, we surround the families with love and support in as many ways possible.
